‘WISE FORESIGHT HU 2007” Exercise

The military of the Peacekeeping Romanian-Hungarian Joint Battalion are participating between September 3 and 14, in “WISE FORESIGHT HU 2007” exercise developed in Varpalota, Hungary.

“WISE FORESIGHT HU 2007” exercise enlists in the training program of the Romanian military of the 191st Infantry Battalion “Radu Golescu” from Arad and the Hungarian military of the 5th Infantry Brigade from Hodmezovasarhely. The exercise aims to develop the specific activities within a mission under the UN mandate.

In the fist stage, the Romanian and Hungarian military developed a computer assisted exercise for training the participants in planning of missions and solve of the situations similar to those existing in the theaters of operations in Iraq or Afghanistan. The activities continued with a practical stage, in Ujmabor shooting range, where they had missions of guard and escort, and evacuation of equipment and personnel.

The Day of Distinguished Visitors occurred Wednesday, September 12, and the participants were the military and civilian officials from Hungary and Romania. General Havril Andras, chief of the Hungarian General Staff and Major General Ph.D. Ioan Ciupei, commander of the 4th Territorial Army and Brigade General Alexandru Rus, commander of the 81st Mechanized Brigade participated in this activity.
