Sorin Encutescu, State Secretary and chief of Department for Parliament Liaison, Legislative Harmonization and Public Relations participated Wednesday, April 7, 04 in Prague to the seminar “Romania: Our New Allied in NATO” organized by the Association for Security, Defence and Protection of Society and State-BOSS from the Czech Republic and “Manfred Worner – Romania” Association with the support of the Romanian Embassy in Prague, the Ministry of National Defence, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Czech local authorities.

After the opening speech of Ion Iliescu, the President of Romania, the State Secretary Encutescu stessed on the importance of the “Prague 2002” moment for Romania’s integration within the North Atlantic Alliance and remarked on the Romanian preoccupations and lines of actions as a full rights member of NATO for the fulfillment of the aims of reform, the increase of the contributions in ensuring the regional security, countering the terrorism and the participation to the missions in different theaters of operations. Other issue the State Secretary referred to was the increase of the cooperation relations with other NATO members in legislative harmonization, public relations and social problems of the military.
