Thursday, April 8, 04 the Romanian military camp in Kandahar was visited by Major General Eric Olson, the CTJF 180 new commander in Afghanistan and the members of the Coalition Staff.

Lt. Col. Victor Dascalescu, commander of the 280th Infantry Battalion presented his Battalion within a briefing and they discussed on the role and the missions of the unit, the cooperation with the coalition forces and how the Romanians activities are perceived by the population.

CTJF 180 delegation visited the stands of the Battalion, the chapel and other elements from the Romanian camp, and was interested in technique, armaments, endowment and the living conditions of the Romanians.

At the end of the visit, Major General Olson signed in the Battalion’s honor book appreciating the responsible and professional way the Romanians fulfill their missions. The new CJTF 180 commander thanked the Romanian Armed Forces for the active fight against terrorism.
