Sergeant Florinel Enache of the 280th Infantry Battalion, deployed to Zabul Province, Afghanistan, was seriously wounded on Friday, 4 May.

During a mission of ground recconnaisnace and securing an objective on route A1, the NCO was severely wounded after the explosion of an improvised explosive device. He was evacuated immediately to the field hospital at Lagman Base, where the medical staff do everything to save him.
