The Minister of National Defence Meets the Ambassador of the Czech Republic
The Minister of National Defence, Gabriel Leş, welcomed the ambassador of the Czech Republic to Romania, H.E. Vladimír Války, on Wednesday, March 8. The meeting was a good opportunity to discuss topics of mutual interest, among which the development of bilateral defence cooperation as well as cooperation within NATO and the EU.
Both sides affirmed their commitment to strengthen cooperation relations in the current security context by leveraging the existing potential, both in joint training, education and research, as well as through participation in missions under NATO, the EU and the UN command. At the same time, the Czech official highlighted the cooperation opportunities in the technical and military field.
The two delegations emphasized the major role played by the armed forces of the two countries in multinational development programs of military capabilities under NATO and EU aegis, such as the Framework Nations Concept coordinated by Germany.
The two officials advocated the need to enhance the political and military dialogue between Romania and the Czech Republic, through meetings at defence minister and chief of staff level.
