DEMEX – 2005

The Romanian Armed Forces will prove its capacity to conduct defensive and offensive combat operations under NATO standards as it will show the technical performance of its equipment, in a large exercise, DEMEX – 2005, which has been conducted for the last five years.

Big and small Army units will participate with about 3,000 troops, 200 combat vehicles and 500 transport vehicles, in Cincu range, Brasov, from September 19 to 23, 2005. Troops and equipment from Bucharest, Dej, Focșani, Huși, Brăila and Buzău begin to deploy to Cincu.

DEMEX 2005 will be a brigade level exercise which represents the completion of the training and operationalisation process undergone by Army units, which was scheduled to finish this year.

The tasks to be carried out during the exercise, the Romanian Army will test its capability to perform in NATO operations, in compliance with Romanian Armed Forces’ commitments within the Alliance.
