Chief of General Staff, General Dr. Eugen Badalan participated today in the session of analysis of activity of the 2nd Joint Operational Command Maresal Alexandru Averescu, in Buzau. This occasion he also participated in the ceremony of appointment of the commander of the 2nd Joint Operational Command.

Major General Dr. Teodor Frunzeti, commander of the 2nd Joint Operational Command was promoted starting March 15 by order of the minister of National Defense as the General Staff deputy director and Brigade General Ion Chiranescu was authorized as commander of the 2nd Joint Operational Command; since August 2005 he was the deputy commander.

General Frunzeti was the commander of the 2nd Joint Operational Command Maresal Alexandru Averescu since 2004. As commander, he conducted the Romanian detachments activity in the theaters of operations and coordinated the planning, organization and conduct of national and international exercises.
