Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Dr. Sorin Ioan met Friday, April 7, 2006 an official delegation of the Chinese armed forces, and the representatives of General Staff and different military regions.

General Ioan during the meeting appreciated the excellent bilateral cooperation between the two armed forces. They presented aspects on the Romanian Army process of transformation, the system of training and the programs of modernization.

The Romanian Army's effort of transformation and modernization is remarkable as well the special participation in international missions mentioned the chief of the Chinese delegation, Colonel General Qi Zhu, commander of Beijing military region.

The Chinese delegation also met the deputy chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Florian Pinta and visited the National Defense University and an unit of mountain troops from the Army.
