About 200 soldiers from the 2nd Infantry Brigade, Craiova are acting since this morning in the works for prevention of floods that might occur by the Danube river overflow.

Thus, a detachment of 109 soldiers from the 20th Infantry Battalion commanded by Major Claudiu Sava are working for consolidation of a dyke in Calafat region and 108 soldiers from the 26th Infantry Battalion commanded by Captain Cristian Raducu are building another dyke of sacks with sand and soil in Desa, Dolj County.

The detachments are acting at the local public authorities request. After limiting and diminishing the effects of floods the soldiers could intervene in rescue of the affected people, and evacuation of population and goods.
