A military delegation headed by the chief of the Army Staff of Nigeria, Lieutenant General Martin Luther Agwai pay an official visit in Romania between April 17 and 18, 2006.

Today the guests met at the Romanian Army Staff HQ Lieutenant General Dr. Sorin Ioan, Generals and officers. During the talks they presented aspects of the process of reform and transformation of the Romanian Army, modernization of military equipment, structure of personnel and military education. General Sorin Ioan stressed on the voluntary military service as a challenge the Romanian Army is ready to manage.

They also approached the increase and diversification of the military cooperation between the two countries forces.

The Nigerian delegation will meet the deputy chief of Romanian General Staff, Lieutenant General Florian Pinta, State Secretary Ion Mircea Plangu and State Secretary Ioan Ion, and will visit the National Company Romtehnica and Aerostar Bacau Company.
