Romanian Corvette in the BLACKSEA PARTNERSHIP 06

The Corvette 260 Amiral Barbuneanu will represent the Romanian Navy in the BLACKSEA PARTNERSHIP 06 maritime exercise developed in Turkey between May 5 and 12, 2006 in the territorial and international waters of the Southern Black Sea. The ship is commanded by Captain Commander Sorin Coada and crew on board is of 106 soldiers.

The exercise aims to promote the cooperation and interoperability between the Navies of the participant countries, the anti-terrorism combat proceedings and the defense against surface ships, enemy aviation, submarines and the real artillery firings.

The BALCKSEA PARTNERSHIP 06 includes the search and rescue exercises, evolution in diverse formations and training for ships fulfilling peace support actions.

The BLACKSEA PARTNERSHIP 06 regional exercise is annual organized by Turkey for the Black Sea states aiming the strengthening of cooperation in security and stability in the Black Sea region.

Corvette 260 Amiral Barbuneanu will start the march to Turkey from Mangalia Military Bay, Thursday, May 4 at 12.00 hours.
