GEOINT 2006 international seminar on GEOINT Concept in preventing and removing the natural disasters effects organized by the US National Geospacial Agency and Military Topographic Directorate from the General Staff was developed in Bucharest between May 23 and 24, 2006.

The main topics of this seminar with participation of specialists in topo-survey from 21 NATO members and partners aimed the use of geospacial data in preventing and intervention in case of natural disasters.

The participants analyzed the possible solutions for the mutual information in geospacial data and presented papers on natural disasters such as: floods in Romania and Europe, hurricanes in the United States of America, earthquake in Pakistan and tsunami in the Southeastern Asia.

The debates were focused on the necessity to fundament an unique concept for preventing and removing the effects of disasters and the establishment of efficient actions for the fight against them.
