Training for mission in Iraq: simulation training exercise

Teodor Atanasiu, minister of National Defense met yesterday, May 25 at Carol I National University of Defense with the officers and NCOs of the 811th Infantry Battalion Dragonii Transilvani and those of the 96th Engineering Battalion participating in a simulation training exercise, SIMEX, developed this week for the mission in Iraq.

I was informed about the rapidity and correctness the military of the two Battalions solved the received situations and I am sure that each of the soldiers will prove the same level of professionalism during their mission in the theater of operations stated Teodor Atanasiu.

SIMEX interactive exercise aimed the check of the leading personnel capacity to solve the moments and incidents that could occur during the two detachments participation in mission. The activity was coordinated by a group of officers led by the commander of the 81st Mechanized Brigade, Brigade General Avram Catanici and monitored by the leaders of the Center of Training by Simulation where the US specialists are acting, too.

The expertise the soldiers reached in previous international missions and the intense training recently developed represent strong points in the process of decision and leading of the military actions simulated during this exercise.
