For the children of Kabul

The soldiers of the Multinational Brigade SEEBRIG, among them being 223 Romanian soldiers inaugurated Monday, June 1, 2006 a park for the children from the Afghani capital.

Initiated by the Romanians the project of the park named SEEBRIG was achieved in May with the support of the soldiers from the French Battalion, the local authorities and a non-governmental Afghani company. The works were financed from the SEEBRIG common budget and coordinated by the Brigade CIMIC section and consisted in the arrangements of places of play for children, volley terrain, plant of trees and roses, arrangements of alleys, gates of the park and a monument marking the contribution in this project of the seven compounds of the SouthEastern European Multinational Brigade.

In the SEEBRIG Park inauguration ceremony participated: the Governor and the Mayor of Kabul, officers from the Afghani Police, representatives of the United Nations Organization for Afghanistan (UNAMA), children from District 11 and soldiers from SEEBRIG Multinational Brigade.

Brigade General Neyko Nenov, the Brigade commander stated this occasion that SEEBRIG Park is a symbol of peace and our appreciation for Afghanistan, for its people, culture and history and our trust in the future of this country. This Park is our gift for the children from District 11 representing our understanding and solidarity with the local people as it is written on the monument Peace is our gift for children in this day of anniversary of the children all over the world.
