NATO exercise in the Green Cape Islands

A military diving team, two geodesist officers and a staff officer will participate in STEADFAST JAGUAR 06 NATO exercise developed in the Green Cape territorial waters, between June 1 and July 12, 2006.

The EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) divers commanded by Lieutenant Commander Adrian Ontica will develop specific missions in supporting the exercise naval component. The specialists from the Military Topographic Directorate will fulfill the missions of analysis of terrain in supporting the command of the exercise while the staff officer from the Romanian Air Force will act within ACC (Air Component Command).

STEADFAST JAGUAR 06 exercise is an operation performed in an area outside NATO responsibility and aims the certification of forces comprised in the NRF (North Atlantic Reaction Force) for fulfilling the final operational capability.

In this action about 7,000 military from NATO countries are participating and this is the largest NRF operation since its creation in 2002.
