The Graveyard of the Heroes in Craiova will be rearranged between June 7 and 21, 2006 by Romanian and German soldiers organized in mixed camps for caring the German war graves.

This activity, a tradition of cooperation of the two armed forces, aims the rehabilitation of graves and commemorative works in memory of the soldiers fighting in the two World Wars. The German side is represented by 10 soldiers from the 21st Sanitz Air Missile Division and the Romanian part is represented by 12 professional soldiers from the 2nd Infantry Brigade Rovine.

The camps are organized according to the stipulations of the Agreement between the Government of Romania and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany on the Romanian war graves in Germany and the German war graves in Romania ratified by the Law no. 170/1997.

The activity is coordinated by the Section of Military Traditions and Civic Education from the Department for Parliament Liaison, Legislative Harmonization and Public Relations.
