CETATEA 2006 technical exercise of communications and data processing will occur between June 14 and 20, 2006 in the military units in Romania with participation of 2500 civilians and military from the staffs of the three services, from the Command of Communications and Information, the 2nd Joint Operational Command, the Joint Logistics Command and the Agency for Military Info Systems and Services.

The exercise is initiated and coordinated by the General Staff through its special structure the Directorate of Communications and Information. According to the chief of this Directorate, Major General Dr. Dumitru Cristea, the exercise CETATEA 2006 aims to test the interoperability of the equipment of communication and information in service in the Romanian armed forces, especially those used in the multinational exercises, the training of staff personnel in applying NATO standards and proceedings and the drafting of the leading documents according to the requirements of the North Atlantic Alliance.

General Staff
