In Kandahar Ceremony in the memory of the 2nd Lieutenant (post mortem) Ionel Gheorghita Dragusanu

A religious ceremony occurred June 21, 2006 in the evening, in memory of 2nd Lieutenant (post mortem) Ionel Gheorghita Dragusanu, in the camp of the 341st Infantry Battalion from Kandahar, Afghanistan. All the White Sharks excepting those on mission, participated in this ceremony. At the end of the religious ceremony, the soldiers said farewell to their comrade.

He gave his life here, on this land ravaged by war and grief, faraway from his beloved people, for the most precious values of mankind: peace and freedom. It took only a moment to put out his dreams for a better life. But we are sure his sacrifice will not be in vain said the commander of the 341st Infantry Battalion White Sharks, Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Vasile Vreme.

A second military and religious ceremony occurred this morning on Kandahar Airport with the participation of all the commanders and soldiers from the Coalition detachments, for the last honors for 2nd Lieutenant (post mortem) Ionel Gheorghita Dragusanu.

The first detachment of the 341st Infantry Battalion White Sharks, at the end of their six month mission in the ENDURING FREEDOM VIII, will bring the body of 2nd Lieutenant (post mortem) Ionel Gheorghita Dragusanu back to Romania with them.
