The 7th edition of the Military Bands International Festival will occur in Braila between June 30 and July 2, 2006, organized by the Ministry of National Defense, the Town Hall and the Municipal Council of Braila.

Bands from Austria, Republic of Moldavia, Turkey and the United States together with the Representative Band of the Ministry of National Defense, the united bands from Braila, Buzau and Focsani, the Cadets Band of the School for the Military Bands from Bucharest and the Navy Military Band from Constanta will participate in this Festival.

Daily, starting 6 p.m. they will have concerts of promenade in the squares and parks, parades on the main street and the festive concert occasioned by the celebration of 175 years since the establishment of the military bands in Romania.

The official opening will occur Saturday, July 1, 2006 at 7.30 p.m. on the Esplanade. In the same place, Sunday at 9,50 p.m. the end of the Festival will represent the occasion for all the bands to concert in common, and then the fire works will occur.

The first edition of the Military Bands Festival occurred in 1996 in Braila with national participation and in 1998 it occurred once every two years with the participation of foreign military bands.
