Major Ion Stanciu from the National Support Element was slightly wounded by the explosion of a missile launched over the Kandahar base in Afghanistan, today, July 19, at 18.40 Romania's time.

No other Romanian soldiers was affected by this explosion.

Immediately after this incident the officer went to the sickroom for medical care and then he was transported to the hospital of the base for additional investigations according to the standard proceedings.

The unidentified persons launched two 107mm missiles over the base and one of them exploded near the Romanian camp.
