Minister Atanasiu congratulated the graduates of the Army Academy

I promise you, dear graduates, I am going to fight no matter the problems I'll create myself for getting the necessary founds for the budget of the Ministry of National Defense, in order to ensure decent, motivated salary for all the Armed Forces employees, for offering them the adequate social conditions, endowment and equipment necessary for them to do their job as it should said Minister of National Defense, Teodor Atansiu to the graduates of Nicolae Balcescu Army Academy during the ceremony occurred today in Sibiu.

We are living the reality of being part of NATO and in future, of the European Union. It is a reality that, I am convinced, the Romanian Armed Forces will mentally adapt perfectly, too added Minister Atanasiu.

The Army is receiving you with large opened arms in this time when we are ending the restructure, we are developing important programs of modernization of our equipment, we are continuing to operationalize the combat and support structures and we are participating in international actions mentioned Lieutenant General Ioan Sorin, Chief of the Army Staff.

Minister Atanasiu, General Ioan and local representatives congratulated the graduates and wished them good luck in their military career.

Carol I 2006 class consists in 167 Second Lieutenants, 31 being female officers.
For a year they will attend the Romanian Army Schools of Applications and three Second Lieutenants will go to study in France.

According to the results gained during the four years of study, the chiefs of Carol I class are:
- Second Lieutenant Claudiu Andrei GRANDEL Infantry;
- Second Lieutenant Adriana Cristina MARCU Transmissions;
- Second Lieutenant Cristinel Hagiu Artillery;
- Second Lieutenant Adelin Mihai ZAGARIN Auto;
- Second Lieutenant Constantin George VACARIU Engineering;
Second Lieutenant Claudiu Andrei is in the same time the chief of graduates of the Army Academy.
