The military of the 2nd Infantry Battalion Calugareni have yesterday in Qalat camp, the Afghani province Zabol, the visit of the ISAF Commander, Lieutenant General David Richards together with the commander of the AEGIS South Regional Command, Brigade General David Frasier; the Romanians being under his operational control.

During the visit, they analyzed the stage of achievement of the projects of development initiated by the Team of Provincial Reconstruction in Qalat. Also, the guests were informed on the way the Romanian military are fulfilling their missions in their area of responsibility.

The ISAF Commander mentioned the fact that the military of the 2nd Infantry Battalion Calugareni proved even since the beginning they are an active, rapid, credible and flexible NATO force in this province. By the way you acted till now and due to your presence alongside the Afghani forces of security you managed to discourage any hostile intention. Thank you for the contribution in imposing an environment of peace and stability in Zabol province stated General Richards.
