Participation in common missions in the theaters of operations was the main topic of the talks between Lieutenant General Sorin Ioan, chief of the Romanian Army Staff, and General David McKiernan, commander of USAEUR, the 7th Army and the NATO Terrestrial Component Command, last week, in Heidelberg, Germany.

Other topics were: the enlargement, diversification and strengthening of the relations of cooperation between the Romanian Army and the US Army in Europe and the participation in common training and exercises.

The program of the Romanian delegation headed by General Ioan included a visit to the military wounded in June 20, in Afghanistan, Sergeants Costinel Slaniceanu and Laurentiu Serban, in Landstuhl Military Hospital. The Chief of the Romanian Army Staff talked with the hospital leaders and the US medical team treating the Romanian military. Their condition is stable, having to bear a complex process of treatment and recovery.
