Lieutenant General Ph.D. Sorin Ioan, chief of the Army Staff and a military delegation will have an official visit in the United States of America, at the Army Command, invited by the chief of the US Army Staff, General Peter J. Schoomaker.

The two Generals will approach the issues concerning the current missions in the theaters of operations, the future development of the cooperation between the Romanian Army and the US Army, the perspectives of the process of reform and modernization of the Army and the training for common exercisers.

The Romanian delegation will visit the US Military Academy, West Point, ( where three Romanian students are learning) and two US military bases, Fort Bragg and Fort Irwin.
