The Military Hospital - celebrates its 175th anniversary

The first infirmary of a military unit of the Wallachia Principality was set up on September 13, 1831. Over the years, it developed into what we know today as the Military Emergency Hospital Dr. Carol Davila.

The hospital had always been one of the prominent medical institutions in Romania, in terms of both equipment and personnel.

Over 55,000 patients are treated annually in the Military Emergency Hospital Dr. Carol Davila while about 120,000 individuals get outpatient treatment. The hospital is also one of the representative clinical facilities of the Dr. Carol Davila University of Medicine, where 600 students and 400 interns get trained every year.
