The Romanian-Turkish-Hungarian Air Exercise at Campia Turzii

A Romanian Air Force Detachment and the representatives of the Turkish and Hungarian Air Forces will participate to the COOPERATIVE SAREX 2006 multinational exercise, between September 18 and 22, 2006 on Campia Turzii airdrome.

The Romanian Air Force is participating in this exercise with 180 military and civilians and 15 IAR 330 helicopters in PUMA, SOCAT and MEDEVAC variants. The Turkish Detachment consists of 40 military, an AS 532 COUGAR and an CN 235 CASA airplane and the Hungarian Air Force is represented by 50 military and two Mi 17 helicopters.

The exercise, at the second edition in Romania, aims to train the crews of the helicopters and the personnel for the search and rescue missions, and the air-medical evacuation within different groups of multinational forces. This occasion they will have the initial evaluation of the Romanian Detachment of the transport helicopters set at NATO disposal in 2007.
