The Chief of the General Staff, Vice-Admiral Dr. Gheorghe Marin will appoint Brigade General Dr. Stefan Oprea as the commander of the 2nd Joint Operational Command Maresal Alexandru Averescu during the ceremony in Buzau, Monday, September 18, 2006 at 11 a. m.

The Prefect of Buzau County, the Major of the city and the commanders of the units from Buzau garrison are invited to participate in this event.

Brigade General Dr. Stefan Oprea was the commander deputy of the 2nd Joint Operational Command Maresal Alexandru Averescu between 2002-03; between May and December 2003 was the director of the Army Staff and between December 2003 and July 2004 was the commander of the Army Command. Between July 2004 and August 2006 he was the deputy director of the Partnership Coordination Cell within the Allied Command for Operations, in Mons, Belgium.
