The Brigade General Dr. Stefan Oprea was appointed today as commander by the Vice-Admiral Marin; he received the command from the Brigade General Ion Chiranescu.
I want to be a Chief sharing equal attention to all the services stated Vice-Admiral Marin who stressed on the main directions of the General Staff's effort for the future time: continuation of the process of transformation and operationalization of the military structures in the same time with the fulfillment of the engagements towards the allies and the partners; the end of the process of professionalization of the armed forces; and the endowment with modern and high quality equipment.

Our military's successful participation in the difficult missions in the theaters of operations belongs to you, too, to those acting in this Command said Vice-Admiral Marin to the leaders of the units from Buzau.

After the ceremony, Vice-Admiral Marin had a video conference with the commanders of the Detachments from Iraq and Afghanistan. This occasion he was informed on the situation in the theaters of operations, the state of health and spirit of the troops, and the operative level of the military equipment.

The Chief of the General Staff had talks with the officials of Buzau County and city and the commanders of the military units from Buzau garrison.
