COOPERATIVE SAREX 2006 is Friday receiving the guests

The activities occasioned by the Day of Distinguished Guests within the COOPERATIVE SAREX 2006 multinational search and rescue exercise will occur Friday, September 22, 2006 at 10 a.m. at Campia Turzii Air Base, Cluj County.

Lieutenant General Gheorghe Catrina, chief of the Romanian Air Force Staff, Brigade General Kazim Ondul, chief of Training in the Turkish Air Force Staff, Brigade General Zoltan Orosz, commander of the 86th Szolnok Squadron of Helicopters, Hungary, military attaches accredited in Romania, representatives of local administration and media are invited to participate in this activity.

The multinational common flight exercise COOPERATIVE SAREX 2006 is developed between September 18 and 22, 2006 with the participation of 180 military and civil personnel, 15 IAR 330 helicopters of the Romanian Air Force, 40 military, an AS 532 COUGAR helicopter and a CN 235 CASA plane of the Turkish Air Force and 50 military and two Mi 17 helicopters of the Hungarian Air Force.

At the second edition in Romania, the aim of this exercise is to train in common the crews of helicopters and the personnel of service for search and rescue missions, for medical evacuation by air of different groups of multinational forces.
