Commander of the Dutch Royal Navy in official vist in Romania

The commander of the Dutch Royal Navy, Vice-Admiral Jan Willem Kelder will have an official visit in Romania between October 2 and 4, 2006. This occasion he will have talks at the General Staff and the Navy Staff HQs on the stage and perspectives of the bilateral relations and they will find out new areas of cooperation, especially on the training of personnel.

The guest delegation will visit different Navy units in Constanta.

Vice-Admiral Jan Willem Kelder was born in 1949 and graduated the Dutch Royal Navy College in 1973. Along his career he had leading positions on board of the representatives ships of the Royal Dutch Navy and the Navy Command.
In 1990 and 1991 he participated as officer in charge of navy operations in the Desert Shield and Desert Storm developed in the Gulf. He was appointed Vice-Admiral in April 25, 2005 and in May he was appointed the commander of the Dutch and Benelux fleet. In September 5, 2006 he was appointed in the present position.
