The military career as a voluntary soldier is a new and exciting option on the job market as result of the passing January 1, 2007 to the voluntary military service in peace time.

In the almost three weeks since the start of the campaign for a military profession, in September 20, 2006, the interested persons for this type of career is about 30,000 in number.

About 6,000 young people addressed to the Information-Recruitment Offices, more then 2,500 called the TELVERDE phone number (0800808880), freely set at their disposal, and 21,000 visitors on INTERNET (www.mapn.ro/recrutare) for the information on the way they can be hired in the army as the professional soldiers.

An attractive element is the principle of equality of chances adequately applied in the military domain, so that about 20% from the young people addressing the Information-Recruitment Offices are females.

According to the analyzes made by the Information-Recruitment Offices the most interested young people in a military career are those from the counties: Arges, Constanta, Gorj, Iasi, Ilfov, Olt, Prahova, Satu Mare and the less interested are the young people from Caras-Severin, Covasna, Salaj and Maramures.

The Romanian armed forces have about 2,000 positions, this year, for the voluntary male soldiers and in 2007 about 5,000 positions for males and females, between 18 and 26 years old.

Starting January 2007 a voluntary soldier or an NCO will have material benefits such as: salary ( food pay including) starting from 10 millions old lei plus different outputs according to their military specialty and working conditions, equipment, compensations for the rent of a house if they don't have houses, in worth of up to 50% from their salary, medical assistance, according to the law, possibility to continue their education and the perspectives of an evolution in a permanent military career by the pass in the corps of NCOs or officers.
