The 2nd Infantry Battalion Calugareni praised by Commander of NATO Forces in South Afghanistan

General David Fraser, Commander of Regional Command South, ISAF, visited the Romanian troops of the 2nd Infantry Battalion Calugareni to celebrate the Romanian Armed Forces' Day, October 25. General Fraser said that the Romanians are a true battle group and, alongside the troops of the U.S. Company in their subordination and the Provincial Reconstruction Team, are doing a tremendous job.
During his discussions with the troops, the General expressed his appreciation for the combat qualities of the Romanian military commanded by LTC Daniel Petrescu: I am proud to have the opportunity of working together. Due to you, the traffic is free now on the highway that connects the south to the north of the country, which is a clear sign of normality. Thank you very much for what you do in order to make the people of Zabul province live in a climate of security and stability.
The Canadian general was accompanied by the Dutch Major General Van Loon, due to take over the command of RC South next November.
