Minister of Defense, Sorin Frunzaverde and Chief of the General Staff, Admiral Gheorghe Marin met Thursday, December 14, the Afghani Minister of Defense, Abdul Rahim Wardak.

The talks have been focused on the bilateral cooperation in defense area, the Afghani Minister of Defense asking the Romanian help in training the military of the new Afghani armed forces to be built, and the help for their endowment.

The high Afghani official saluted the presence of the Romanian military in his country underlining the way they managed to fulfill their specific missions and to communicate with the local population.

In Kabul, the Romanian delegation also had meetings at the ISAF III Command, the mission under NATO command and met the Romanian military acting in ISAF and in the special mission of training of the new Afghani armed forces, ANA Training.

This morning, the Romanian delegation visited in Qalat the military from the 2nd Infantry Battalion Calugareni acting for the creation of an environment of security and stability adequate for the implementation of the projects of development and reconstruction of Zabul Province.
