Romanian military in Iraq in Christmas time have guests from home

The Romanian military in mission in Iraq will celebrate the Christmas time together with the military delegation headed by the commander of the 2nd Joint Operational Command, Lieutenant General Florian Pinta. The delegation arrived Friday, December 22, in the Romanian Camp Dracula, recently inaugurated by the Minister of Defense and the Chief of the General Staff.

The military of the 811th Infantry Battalion Dragonii Transilvani together with the guests from Romania and other contingents of the Coalition will participate to the mass to be celebrated in the Church in the Romanian Camp. They will have a festive lunch with the traditional Romanian food.

During the visit, the commander of the 2nd Joint Operational Command will meet the leaders of the Coalition detachments acting in Dhi Qar province and the commander of the 3rd Iraqi Brigade ensuring the security in the area.

The delegation will inspect the Romanian military ensuring the permanent guard and security of the bridge over the Euphrates river. This occasion, General Pinta will meet the local leaders and will offer presents to the Iraqi children.

The Romanian delegation will travel for Basra in visit to the 100 Romanian military from the 2nd Mountain Troops Brigade from UNAMI Company.
