Romanian military in humanitarian action in Afghanistan

The military of the 2nd Infantry Battalion Calugareni in mission in Afghanistan had Tuesday, January 2, a humanitarian action in the North-East of Zabul Province, in their area of responsibility.

The Romanian military gave to about 250 Afghani children the gifts consisting in: bags, writing tables, toys, sweets and blankets, all ensured by the Salvati Copiii Romania Organization.

The mission in Afghanistan made us to meet and cooperate with different persons, common people, tribal or governmental leaders, but those expressing their desire for a life in peace on this Earth are the children stated, this occasion, Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Petrescu, the commander of the Romanian Battalion leading this action.

What we've offered today to the children is a very little according to their needs, but bringing them gifts from the Romanians, we had a reward, their pure smile and their strengthen belief in a better future. I am happy the Romanian military started the new year by brining gifts added Lieutenant Colonel Petrescu.
