Minister of Defense, Sorin Frunzaverde, delivered Thursday, January 18, 2007 a lecture to the students of the seventeenth series of the main course at the National College of Defense.

In this context, minister Sorin Frunzaverde underlined that the join of Romania to the North Atlantic Alliance and the European Union is not ended once the access in the two organizations and Romania must ensure the budget necessary to the fulfillment of the assumed engagements. For this year, the Romanian authorities managed to ensure for Defense the budget of 2.2 billions Euro, representing 2.05 % from the GDP.

Minister of Defense appreciated the special role the National College of Defense plays in education of the future military and civil leaders with responsibility in Romania's national security area, stressing on the necessity of improving the selection of the candidates for the courses at the National College of Defense.

This institution of education was established in 1992 for the improvement of general and special education in defense and national security for the military and civil personnel working in the system of national security.
