Minister of Defense, Sorin Frunzaverde met Wednesday, January 24, 2007 the British Vice PM John Prescott in visit in Romania.

During the talks the officials approached the bilateral military cooperation, the process of transformation the Romanian Armed Forces are going through and the situation in the Western Balkans and the Black Sea region.

The British PM John Prescott transmitted to the Romanian Minister of Defense, Sorin Frunzaverde, the PM Tony Blairs' thank for the Romanian military's contribution in the multinational operations in Iraq and Afghanistan where the British forces are participating in.

The two parts had mutual information on the stage of negotiations for the complete of the Agreement of maintenance and modernization of the two frigates the Romanian Navy is endowed with, and appreciated as useful the continuation of talks on this issue between the beneficiary, the Romanian Navy, and the British contractor.
