Minister of Defense, Sorin Frunzaverde had an intervention during the NATO-Russia Council, Friday, February 9, in Seville during the Defense Ministers Informal Reunion from NATO member countries.

This occasion, Minister Frunzaverde declared that both parts made efforts for the development of the NATO-Russia projects in the fife years of this organism existence and in the ten years since the launch of the partnership between the Alliance and Russia.

The Romanian Minister of Defense appreciated of a special relevance the cooperation between Russia and NATO in countering the terrorism, the participation of the Russian Federation in Active Endeavour operation and this country's participation in countering the traffic of drugs in Afghanistan as a substantial support for the allied operational efforts.

Minister Frunzaverde considers the political dialogue within the NATO-Russia Council must be focused on the sensitive issues, mentioning the interest for the discussion, in future, of different aspects on the energetic security and the ratification of the CFE Treaty.
