The military of the 812th Infantry Battalion Soimii Carpatilor had, last week, a mission of reconnaissance for the organization of the actions of support of the local population near Qalat, in Afghanistan

In order to show their peaceful intends the military distributed food, cloths, radio sets, and newspapers in Pashtun and in English.

The Romanian, the US and the Afghani sub-units had common missions at about 20km far from the deployment bases to inform the local population on the aims of the ISAF presence, the most important being the creation of a state of security for all the Afghani inhabitants.

The missions were peacefully performed and the military safely returned to their base.
