The analyze of the last year activity, occurred Tuesday, February 20, at the Navy Staff HQ, in the presence of the Minister of Defense, Sorin Frunzaverde and the Chief of the General Staff, Admiral Gheorghe Marin.

The military of the Navy participated in 2006 in 144 international missions; the most important one was that of Regina Maria frigate, participant for three months in the Active Endeavour operation developed by the North Atlantic Alliance in the Mediterranean Sea, underlined the chief of the Navy Staff, Flotilla Rear Admiral Dorin Danila.

This year, the Navy will participate in the Active Endeavour operation with Regele Ferdinand frigate. As for the endowment, the Navy Staff propose for materialization the important programs of acquisition for the endowment with multirole corvettes and mine hunting ships and the continuation of the endowment with navy helicopters, so that, till the end of the year, the helicopters for the Romanian frigates will be active.

Minister of Defense, Sorin Frunzaverde thanked to the military of the Navy for the way they are fulfilling their missions and underlined that, the participation in the international missions represented an important element for gaining the interoperability with NATO and partners similar forces.
