The analyze of activity of the Air Force Staff on 2006 occurred Tuesday, March 13, at the Air Force Staff HQ in the presence of the Ministry of Defense, Sorin Frunzaverde and of the Chief of the General Staff, Admiral Gheorghe Marin.

In 2006 the Air Force performed 1532 hours of fly for the transport of 3742 military and 870 tons of materials in the theaters of operations where the Romanian contingents are deployed, i.e. Iraq, Afghanistan, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Kosovo. The Romanian Air Force ensured for April1-August 1, 2006 the command of the Kabul International Airport, this being the most complex activity the Romanian Air Force fulfilled last year.

In 2007, the Air Force will participate, for three months, in the Baltic Countries Air Police service, a mission comparable with that of the command of the Kabul International Airport.

The Minister of Defense, Sorin Frunzaverde, underscored the effort paid by the Air Force military and their contribution for the well development of the missions fulfilled by the Army in the theaters of operations.

At the end of the analyze of activity of the Romanian Air Force Staff they read the Presidential Decree on the Chief of the Air Force Staff , Lieutenant General Gheorghe Catrina's promotion in rank of General and his set in reserve with the new rank. The Minister of Defense appreciated the activity developed by General Catrina within the Romanian Armed Forces.
