Lieutenant General Constantin Croitoru was released by order of the Minister of Defense, Thursday, March 15 from the position as the general director of the Defense Intelligence General Directorate and appointed as the Chief of the Air Force Staff.

Major General Francisc Radici was authorized for the position as general director of the Defense Intelligence General Directorate .
The mandating ceremony for Lieutenant General Constantin Croitoru in his new position occurred Thursday, at the Air Force Staff HQ, too.

Present at the ceremony, together with the Chief of the General Staff, Admiral Gheorghe Marin and the State Secretaries Corneliu Dobritoiu and Ioan Ion, the Minister of Defense, Sorin Frunzaverde thanked to General (ret) Gheorghe Catrina, the former Chief of the Air Force Staff for his activity in this position and appreciated him as an exceptional commander who dedicated his life and career to the military aviation.

Minister Frunzaverde wished success to the new Chief of the Air Force Staff and underscored General Constantin Croitoru has the necessary experience for being the commander the Romanian Air Force needs in a such important moment of this branch profound modernization.
