Major General Ants LAANEOTS, Chief, Estonian General Staff, will head a military delegation on official visit in Romania, on April16-18, at the invitation of his counterpart, Admiral Gheorghe MARIN, Chief, Romanian General Staff.

The official issues to be discussed by the two Chiefs of Staffs will cover: the cooperation between the two armed forces as well as ways to further develop the bilateral military relations; the modernization and transformation of the Romanian Armed Forces; regional military cooperation; lessons learned following the contribution to international missions in the theatres of operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. The Romanian side also mentioned some aspects concerning the Romanian contribution to NATO Rapid Reaction Force and European Battle Groups.

The official program also includes visits at the National Defence University Carol I and the headquarters of 21st Mountain Rangers Battalion.
