Humanitarian action undertaken by the Romanian soldiers deployed in Afghanistan

The soldiers of the 812th Infantry Battalion together with Afghan National Police undertook a humanitarian action for the locals of the Afghan village, Spina Ghbarga, at the end of the last week.

The battalion CIMIC officer, Lieutenant Dan ADRIAN, took the necessary steps to convince the Province Reconstruction Team from Qalat region to provide with the necessary articles and basic food supplies the village locals. They were distributed, therefore, over 3 tones of basic food supplies wheat, sugar, edible oil and rice, as well as cooking machines, Thermos-bottles and wireless sets. The 150 village children received schoolbags, stationery and toys.

On this occasion, the members of the wise men council reasserted their support and appreciation for the ISAF force contribution to set a security climate in the region, Zabul province. The CIMIC team also made a first evaluation of the necessary works in order to drill water well in the village.
