Minister of Defence, Teodor Melescanu, will participate between May 3 and 4, to the 10th Euro-Asian Economic Summit organized in Istanbul, Turkey.

The high level reunion is annually organized by the Foundation of Strategic and Social Research Marmara Group on the identification of the new ways of increase of the relations between the European Union and the Central Asian and Middle East states.

Participants in this event are the former and the present Presidents, Prime Ministers and Vice-PMs, Ministers, deputies leaders and representatives of regional, national and international organizations and businessmen.

This year the Summit will approach the issues on the energetic geography and the global actors, the international economy and the use of the competitive global resources, the cultural and tourism cooperation, the global weather modifications and the adequate measures to be taken.

Teodor Melescanu will deliver a speech on The Security in the Middle East Establishment of the Regional Security Fundaments in the day dedicated to the Middle East/Iraq and the EU peacesupporting missions.

Friday, May 4, the Minister of Defence will have meeting and talks with his Turkish counterpart, Mr. Vecdi Gonul.
