Minister of Defence, Teodor Melescanu and the Chief of the General Staff, Admiral Gheorghe Marin met Sunday, May 6 with the military of the 52nd Engineering Battalion TISA from Satu Mare. In this activity also participated the Prefect of Satu Mare County, Radu Bud.

The commander of the Unit presented the organization, endowment and missions, the operationalization level of the Romanian module of the Engineering Multinational Battalion and the problems of manning and equipping. They also made a short demonstration with different types of equipment.

Minister Teodor Melescanu referred on the necessity to endow the Battalion with modern equipment having in view its moral wear.

During the meeting with the personnel the Minister of Defence stressed on the necessity of a project of construction of houses for military and civilians, considering the most successful ways the identification of the terrains in the Armed Forces administration and the built of guaranteed by mortgage houses.

Teodor Melescanu appreciated the Battalion activity and remarked as gladdening the fact that a relative young Unit has notable success in fulfilling the missions. He also stressed on the Battalion future process of operationalization and the increase of the efforts of maintenance of Romanian module operationalization of the Engineering Multinational Battalion TISA , an Unit comprising similar structures of Slovakian, Hungarian and Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The Minister thanked to the military of the 52nd Engineering Battalion for their effort within the Engineering Multinational Battalion, for the cooperation with the local administration representatives in the area of responsibility.
