The ninth edition of awards of the Review Gandirea Militara Romaneasca printed by the General Staff will occur Wednesday, May 9, at 15 hours at the MoD HQ.

The prizes are annually granted for the most important conceptual works on military theory and science. Personalities of the military and civilian life and the MoD leaders are invited to participate in this event.


The first issue of Gandirea Militara Romaneasca Review appeared on February 15, 1864 and it was called Romania militara. On January 1, 1898 the Review became by the High Royal Decree the official Review of the General Staff. Along its existence, the Review hosted exceptional theoretical works of the Romanian Armed Forces leaders and became the most important theoretic instrument in supporting the development of the national military institution. Nowadays, the Review is engaged in the process of transformation of the Romanian military body.
