Gandirea Militara Romaneasca awards ceremony, the ninth edition, for works on military theory and science, issued in 2006, occurred Wednesday, May 9, in the presence of the Minister of Defence, Teodor Melescanu and military and civilian personalities.

The following awards were granted from a total of 81 initially selected works:
• General de divizie Stefan Falcoianu award Ion Cindea, for Razboiul si pacea. Innoiri conceptuale in relatiile internationale contemporane (War and Peace. Conceptual renovation in Contemporary International Relations);
• General de brigada Constantin Hirjeu award Col. Prof. Ph.D. Mircea Cosma, for Cercetarea in stiinta militara. O perspectiva istorica si metodologica (Research on Military Science. A historical and Methodological Perspective);
• Maresal Alexandru Averescu award Lt. General Ph.D. Teodor Frunzeti, for Globalizarea securitatii (Globalization of Security);
• General de corp de armata Ioan Sichitiu award Col. Prof. Ph.D. Gheorghe Udeanu, for Elemente de strategie militara contemporana ( Elements of Contemporary Military Strategy);
• Locotenent Mircea Tomescu award Commander Prof. Ph.D. Traian Anastasiei, for Elemente de arta militara. Crestomatie (Elements of Military Art. Chrestomathy)


Addressing to the audience, Minister of Defence, Teodor Melescanu, appreciated: the event shows the importance the Armed Forces grant to encouraging the military think in defense area and stressed on the fact that the military press is the institution with deepest historical roots in the Romanian press.

Minister of Defence granted diplomas of excellency and booklets to the former Chiefs of General Staff, present in this celebration.
