89 % of the Romanian military from the theaters of operations in Afghanistan, Iraq, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo and on board of Regina Maria frigate voted since18.00 p.m. in the nine sections organized by the Ministry of Defense.

During the voting process there were no incidents or irregularities.

After the elimination of the compulsory military service, starting January 1, 2007, the military do no vote anymore in the sections organized in units, everybody could exercise his right of voting in the residence circumscription stated Minister Melescanu Saturday, May 19, 2007.

The Minister of Defense also stated that in order to ensure all the necessary conditions for the exercise of the right of voting, he issued an Order so that the pupils of the military colleges and the students of the military academies to benefit of permissions so that they could vote.

For the military on duty, the activities have been organized by the commanders so that they could have the time to go to vote.
