More than 1,800 military and 300 fighting vehicles of the 2nd Mountain Brigade Sarmisegetuza from Brasov, of the 282nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade Unirea Principatelor from Focsani, of the 83rd Battalion of LAROM projectiles and sub-units specialized in CIMIC actions participated in CERTEX 07 developed between June 4 and 8, in Smardan, Bogza, Bogata, Bradet, Valea Doftanei and Prislop shooting fields.

The exercise, organized by the Army Staff, occurred having in view the continuation of the process of operationalization and evaluation of Army's combat action capacity, of testing the fighting equipment and of contributing to the creation of the flexible and effective operational forces for the national and collective defense within NATO.

The aim of the exercise was the evaluation of the specific proceedings appliance in operational planning and deployment and re-deployment process, the increase of integration and synchronization of actions of forces destined to NATO, the certification of the units to be operationalized in 2007.

The certification activity identified aspects that should be improved and this year it will be followed by the evaluation for their affirmation (validation) through another big exercise thus contributing in the maintaining of a credible level for the fulfilling in terms of the assumed engagements.
